Introduction into
Vertical Reference Flying

Stage 1 is an introduction to Vertical
Reference flying, 5 hours:

• 2 1/2 hours pad work Vertical Reference
• 2 1/2 hours on heliports
• Related ground instruction
• Stage check and evaluation

Upon completion of Stage 1, training pilots will have a basic understanding of Vertical Reference techniques and be able to demonstrate proficiency in operating from makeshift heliports.
